New Dover Resolution to Increase Street Parking Fines

RESOLUTION NO. 2021-02

RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN BOARD FOR THE TOWN OF DOVER, RACINE COUNTY

TO APPROVE INCREASED STREET PARKING FINES

The Town Board for the Town of Dover resolves as follows:

WHEREAS, at the July 12, 2021 Town Board Meeting the recommendation to increase street parking fines was approved; the regular ten dollar fine will now be raised to twenty-five dollars ($25), if not paid within ten (10) days increased to thirty-five ($35) for the following reasons:

  1. The ten dollar ($10) current street parking fine is not a large enough deterrent.
  2. The ten dollar ($10) current street parking fine does not cover the cost to provide the services of the Sheriff’s Department, Court Clerk, Judge, Prosecutor, and Clerk/Treasurers expenses.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Board of the Town of Dover that the new street parking fine will be twenty-five dollars ($25) increased after ten days to thirty-five dollars ($35) for the same reasons set forth above.

Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Dover, Racine County, Wisconsin, this 12th day of July 2021.
